PBB Housemates

The day I turned 21 is the day I received my first paycheck. Right that very moment, without having any second thought, I decided to buy a new mobile phone. A Sony Ericsson K550i, and poof! my salary is gone.  That was almost 6 years ago. When every thing was a lot simpler. When all I worry about is to get my rent and utilities paid.

Twenty one feels like centuries ago. It's like million light years away from 26. We used to order pizza in the middle of the night just because it's pay day or we were just bored. Gone are the days of getting drunk for no reason at all only to wake up the next day with a text from our landlord about the neighbor's complaints. Apparently, we were too noisy. We used to have a bathroom schedule, house rules and other house chores assignments. We used to be happy in a very tiny space. If the apartment was a ship, it would probably sink for trying to fit all six(or at times eight) of us in there, and that's not even including the frequent guests! The plus ones! We used to just talk about simple things, about the new gadgets, about the latest movies, about how work sucks or how great it is.

Days have gone by so fast. We have watched each other grow ( Older and fatter! Or in Kulas' case, slimmer and hunkier if there is such a word). We've seen each other go out of the country for the first time. We have watched each other fall in love, get hurt and fall in love again (Marianne, please do us a favor and fall in love already. haha.). We really have come a long way. Talks are not just about the latest gadgets anymore or the latest movie. Nowadays, we talk about paying housing loans, condominiums, insurance, investments, car loans and starting a family. Some of us chose to try their luck outside the Philippines, some got married, had kids while some are getting married soon. And I'm pretty sure others will follow suit. (Ehem Tyrone, CJ, Tonyo). ;)
In a few months, the apartment in Cuanco, just like the SouthStar Plaza unit, will be nothing but a piece of memory to all of us. We are all moving forward. I am so proud of us guys. :) I am going to miss dropping by that apartment whenever I am in Manila, but most of all, I am going to miss you all. :) Awww! Ang keso. hahaha.
