The Art Of Taking Vain Shots (Bato-bato sa Langit, Ang Tamaan, Wag Masungit)

First and foremost, this piece of shit does not intend to offend someone so if somehow you feel offended of what I am going to write here, my deepest and sincerest apologies.
Taking a vain shot isn't a piece of cake (or is it just me?) because it can really go the opposite way so easily with just a wrong twist of the body or expression of the face unless you are like the ridiculously photogenic guy that got famous a few months ago. Or you're this really hot chick or dude that the cyberworld would forgive you for posting a badly taken vain shot. Lol. But sometimes, even the prettiest girl can be stoned to death (Chill. I am just saying it metaphorically or will I get stoned to death for writing this article because this may come off as being very superficial?) Let's not kill the fun shall we? At one point, you too, are guilty of having taken a vain shot, may it be published or not and have looked and criticized someone else's vain photo.
Taking a good photo of yourself is about having an eye for what is pretty to most people. It is knowing your best angles and when you look good. Most of all, it's all about optical illusions and camera tricks baby. It's knowing how to pose so that your best features are highlighted and the bad ones hidden. In turn your handy dandy digicam or phone will love you!(by the way, I would like to commend those that use dslr because that would mean a lot of hardwork for the arms) . It's about the proper lighting. About the perfect kpop facial expression (if you're taking a very close up photo of your face that has became pimple free just recently ).
There's nothing wrong with posting vain shots in the cyberworld. I actually envy the people who can do so because for me that screams CONFIDENCE. We all need that ego-boosting compliments from other people every now and then. As the saying goes, if you got it, flaunt it (especially if you worked hard for it). ;) Personally, I don't post a lot of vain shots particularly close up shots of my chubby face. I just don't have that confidence but I am guilty of having taken photos of myself in front of the fitting room's mirror. I am a wacky picture kinda gal but I'd do silly ala next top model shots for fun. But I also do think that posting over a thousand photos of yourself (I am talking about publishing them in the world wide web) is borderline narcissistic. Apparently, a person can love himself just a bit too much. Let's get real, your face wouldn't change that much everyday or in those thousand photos and sometimes those photos can be painful in the eye of the beholder but hey, who am I to tell you what to do (as we say in Tagalog, walang basagan ng trip). In my opinion though, I'd rather look at 5-10 good photos than browse through an album of what looks like a collection of someone's face that I can print and make an animated flip book out of. Peace out. :)

DISCLAIMER: I am not a photographer and I don't even know how to use a DSLR so take the vain shot tips at your own risk. To add more drama to the post, I included vain photos of my own, one with the I can almost see your pores look and one with the mirror look. Hahaha. (Forgive me, I really suck at this kind of thing). P.S: To the grammar and spelling police, please don’t give me a ticket if I have sinned. I am not very good at grammar and living in China is not helping me improve in that department. :p
